Smile - You're in Gisborne

Over a decade ago the Gisborne Retailers Association launched the original “Smile You’re in Gisborne” campaign. In 2009 the Heart of Gisborne unveiled a reinvigorated, multifaceted campaign.

The overarching message is a simple one – it’s great when you shop in Gisborne. We all have a choice where we shop or do business, but every time we do it locally we keep our community smiling...we employ more local people, support more local organisations and clubs, reinvest more back into our community, and better protect the character of our awesome city.

When we purchase local products and services and support local businesses we create a vibrant and sustainable environment for business. When businesses thrive they attract more business, creating pockets of complimentary shops.
